I am here to give you every tip I can to help you get through the transplant process and beyond. You’ll find resources for disease management, what to expect during and after surgery, and caregiver support. You’ll also learn how to find your new normal after transplant.
The fact is, I’m not a doctor, nurse, medical assistant, or case manager. I am, however, a liver transplant recipient. This gives me an understanding of what you’re going through because I’ve been down a similar road myself.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with End-Stage Liver Disease and my life was turned upside down. As a mom of two and given 90 days to live, I went into a tailspin. Having been healthy for most of my life, I now had this terminal disease and no clue where to begin. Recently laid off from my job and without health insurance, I spent the next 132 days fighting for my life.
Going through a transplant is a challenging journey, but with a little hope and strength, you can do it. And I’m here to help!
